Man Dressed as Santa Kills at Least 8
"A California man dressed as Santa showed up at his former in-laws house on Christmas Eve and opened fire with a semiautomatic handgun, killed at least eight people and set the house on fire. Police say Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, 45, later shot himself to death at his brother's home about 25 miles away.
As of late Thursday, victims were not yet identified because many were badly burned.

Police said Pardo, who was described as a "nice guy" and a church usher, showed up at his wife's parents' house in Covina where about 30 people were attending a Christmas party. Pardo, dressed in a Santa costume, knocked on the front door. When an 8-year-old girl answered the door, he shot her in the face.

According to police, Pardo then entered the house and started shooting the occupants. He then pour accelerant around the house and set it on fire. He took the Santa suit off and left the scene wearing street clothes, detectives said.

He was found dead in his brother's home in Sylmar a few hours later apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound."
